Various techniques and brainstorming plans went into our music marketing Project. This project took a fairly long time to complete and underwent micro managing from my group and I. On the very first day we decided both our powerpoint presentation with highlighting points, as well as our music video would be done to the best ability it can. Having different factors and key shots in our film piece was one of the ways we brought this to life.
Working in class, the first portion we started on was our presentation. The presentation includes explanation and description of every major detail of our band. We discuss our planned marketing and distribution practices, target audience desired to reach, and the way we wish to reach them. Having the content and information about our band distributed well is very important. If this is done effectively then the band would increase its popularity at a fast rate.
For our music video we used used over forty shots with different backgrounds. The shots consisted of many camera angles, each at different moments of the piece. These shots took about two full days of filming to produce. We all wanted to make sure that we had much more material than we truly needed to bring ease. Moving on, the most difficulty that came with creating the music video was attempting to sync up the voice of our artist to the film. Doing this correctly would bring our video from decent to a proper promotional video.
After placing the videos we recorded in the editor app, CapCut. We then cut the clips up to better fit our bands song. With the music video being better structured, we put on the finishing touches and our piece was then done. Then recording each of our slides and marketing of our band we placed the clips into the presentation. Overall, I found the Aice Media Studies Music marketing project to be highly challenging, but also creative. It forces you and your group to be aware of what you need to complete as well as helps you better your planning skills.
Reflection
The project requires the group to fully layout what they want to complete. Setting goals and plans like the storyboarding is essential in order to market a brand. In this case we needed to market a music brand. Music focuses and relies on certain audiences. Understanding the age of our audience we have to reach can then help us produce and provide media for that audience.
